This guy made a front row hack that actually works, follow all the directions on that page and it should work for you too. I've done it, and so far no problems. DVDs work, and iTunes doesn't screw up all the time.

how long will that link be there? Apple will swoop down and slap a law suit on Macupdate for that

I ran it for a few minutes when it first came out.

Then, I felt really guilty about running illegal software, so I deleted it.

If I really want front row, I'll get an iMac G5 or play with it at the Apple store.

Yeah, it's cool for the first few minutes, but.. Eh.

I'll wait for the legal package to come out....don't need or wan't Front Row bad enough to put on my pirate hat.

It will be so much better when you can buy it from Apple with a remote and it will just work.

FrontRow is so slow, it's absolutely ridiculous. It takes 5 minutes to load a three minute video - and this is on an 2.1 Ghz iMac.

I agree. Without the remote the 'experience' just isn't the same.
I will also be more inclined to use it once it supports external monitors (although, someone on here said it already did?!), and once it is a LOT faster. Still, it is only version 1...

You clearly have a problem with your set-up or video type.

News-flash to the original poster this has been around for weeks now!

I know there is some delay, but it aint 5 mins, i run 600mb + *.avi files everynight works fine for me, even before my RAM upgrade

If it takes longer than 30secs, there might be summit wrong

This was posted and locked a few weeks ago when it first came out. I'm sure its a matter of time before this thread gets locked too.

Still seriously don't understand why people are going and using hacks and such when you can get it to work pretty good without doing any of that.

Is there any way to uninstall this version of front row if you want? If so, which files do you trash?

How many times do we have to say this?

You may NOT discuss the use of or the procedure for using pirated software on this Forum.

MacRumors does not condone the use of pirated software in any way shape or form, and if we catch you using it, it's off to bed without any supper...
