Are there hacks out there that turns the front row remote into somthing more useful??? like a wireless mouse or powerpoint clicker thingie?? If not do you think it is possible that someone along the path might make it?

It isn't a "Front Row remote". It's just a remote. It works with Front Row, and it works with many other apps as well (Keynote, for example) out of the box. :)

Have a look at Remote Buddy...it costs a few bucks after a 30-day trial, but seems to be a quality product.
Nice! I've never had a chance to use my remote aside from giving presentations, but now I'm going to install that software to see if I can figure out more reasons to use it.

Well, it would need to be the other way around: Microsoft would need to make Powerpoint compatible with the remote.

I would certainly hope no one is going to be writing posts advocating piracy in here. It won't be received well. Especially if I've, say, deleted posts about it recently.
