Hi friends,

Any idea on this one.

I have a Core Duo MBP and it does not recognize my front row remote.

I press Apple Esc and Front Row begins. So yes, the program is there.

I tried pairing it with the IR but maybe it was going wrong because nothing happened.

I pointed it at the sensor and held both the Menu and the Next/Ffwd button for five seconds as stated on the apple site. Nothing happened. Tried this a few times. Maybe the remotes a dead one? I hadn't tried to use my front row until today.

I also went into the security section of system preferences and made sure that the disable IR was not checked.

Cheers, Tom

It is possible that the remote's battery is dead. Try changing it, and then see...If that doesn't work, call Apple. I'm sure they'll replace it.

Did it work? When I got my MBP, my remote didn't work. I popped in a working battery from my daughter's remote, and it still didn't work. So I took a small screwdriver and bent the battery contacts in slightly to sort of squeeze the battery better. Ever since then, it worked.
