Frustrated syncing pix from iPhone 14 to MBAir

Got a new MBA and iphone 14. Pix I take on phone don't migrate to the Photos app on the MBA? What is the solution, please.

Have you turned on iCloud Photo Library on both devices and signed into the same account?

Mine took time, I still get a hour delay with syncing phone when I return to my wifi
then everything is great!
