I’ve been getting increasingly annoyed by an inconsistency between the portrait and landscape keyboards on my iPhone. For some reason, the positions of the keyboard switcher button and the number/symbol button are opposite in portrait and landscape! Whenever I'm using the landscape keyboard, I repeatedly hit the keyboard switcher when I want to go to the number/symbol keyboard because I'm used to the layout of the portrait keyboard! Is there some reason Apple chose to flip the positions of the keys? Because I can't think of a good one...

(I’m not sure if this has been discussed before, but a quick forum search didn’t turn anything up.) Landscape.jpg Portrait.PNG

I've submitted it in the past and just submitted it again... it's just hard to know if they're actually reviewing the submissions!

I'm actually a little surprised that this has gone unnoticed, considering all the millions of iOS users today!

Looks like they adopted this in iOS 10. Very strange.
Sure is interesting. I've got devices on iOS 5, 6 & 7 (pictured) and they are consistent, but my wife's iPhone on iOS 9 swaps the keys too. Looks like maybe (unless someone with iOS 8 can verify) it might have been around since 9.. Also great eye, OP!

I submitted a bug report on this and they marked it as a duplicate. So... I guess they know about it, but it's unclear if they plan to address it.
