I'm trying to set up FTP calendar syncing, but I can't get it to work. Right now I have Mozilla Sunbird set up to sync with a .ics calendar file on my web server, and it logs in with FTP. I want to do the same on my iphone, but I can't seem to get it to work. Right now I can only get it to view the calendar, but it is downloading by http, so it can't log in to make changes. Does anyone know if this is even possible, or if it only works with webDAV or some other calendar syncing method?
I don't use the built-in calendar syncing in itunes because it doesn't work with Sunbird, and I don't plug the phone in to sync very often. I don't use iCal because I have been using Sunbird since I was on Windows, and I am used to it. With FTP syncing, I should be able to add an event either of my computers (MBP and Windows desktop) or the phone and have the update immediately be available to all of them.
