i run a couple of iPhone apps on my iPad - instagram, Strava, etc.

Pre-iOS 12, tapping the 2x button would cause the app to fill the entire screen. In 12, there is an expander type icon and tapping it causes the app to expand, but not fill the full screen.

Is there a setting to adjust this?

I’ve just updated to iOS 12 and noticed the same thing with Instagram. It’s really bugging me. I updated to the latest version of Instagram but it didn’t help.

Instagram is not iPad friendly. It is still primarily an iPhone app. When run on iPad it still shows the iPhone format.

Yeah, but right up until I updated to iOS 12 it was doubling the iPhone app to fill the screen on my iPad Air. Now it is not filling the screen. This is worse.
