After having done a clean install i can certify it's the full version.
oh, and btw, OS X isn't like windows where you have 6 versions... OS X comes in 1 version, the full one, and best on the market...

Thank you. This is why I am converting, and more reaons of course, I am sure you have all been down the same road. I can't wait and the oportunity to get a free iPod is pushnig me to buy now rather than later for the Leopard update. Besides, if I get a MacBook Pro now I can always get the MacBook with Leopard, just a thought.

The upgrade prices are usually quite reasonable, and at least with Tiger you know you're getting a well-tried-and-tested OS for which there's tonnes of help and support available on MR and on the rest of the Internet.

I'm not saying Leopard will be buggy, but you know, new stuff always has a higher risk of being a bit of a pain! I didn't think twice before getting the new MBP with Tiger, I just love it so much :D I may even wait a few months after Leopard comes out before I upgrade, just to make sure I don't get caught out by any niggles or changes to the GUI that are going to slow my work down.

After the productivity bump I got from switching from Windows to OS X I couldn't stand anything slowing me down :)

the upgrade from tiger to leopard is pretty cheap compared to Windows.
Moreover, if you are a student (i assume since you were talking about a free ipod), you may have a discount on the regular price of leopard... dont wait. I glad Ihaven't and once you get your mbp, you'll understand what im saying

My thoughts exactly, which makes one worrisome about waiting. I need a new lappy, I have a broken off screen and an ac adaptapter that is acting up.....went looking for a new ac adapter but they are like $120, I could put that money to use when I upgrade to Leopard!

I am thinking of taking the plunge already....today as a matter of fact for the 17". You can't beat the free iPod deal, it doesn't happen anywhere but Apple. You also have the red iPod Nano I want....cool...is it a pretty shiny red color like the others or a deep red?

6 versions?
for vista
there are starter, basic, premium, buisness, enterprise and ultimate.
for each there are upgrade and full.
for each there are 32-bit and 64-bit
for each (except ultimate) there are like dozens of languages.
and the version with bill gates signature

There are more than a hundred:D;):apple:

Full may it be, but not like the boxed one

The OS DVDs are tied to the model. All the functionality is there, together with the bundled apps. However, if you try to install Tiger on a different (older?) machine, it will fail.

I tried once putting iMac's Tiger on an iBookG4 and a PB without success. I had to buy a boxed version. I did put that iBook's Panther into an old iMacG3 without any problem.

Also, I couldn't put the latest Tiger from a MBC2D into an original MB; I could only reinstall the OS with the original DVD that came with the machine.

That's just Apple's activation protection system. Much better than the constant notification in windows and the 30 day activation trial thing. :D
