macOS Fullscreen 2048x786 on mac?

I have written a java application that uses fullscreen 2048x786 that works on a PC with a nvidia graphics card that spans over two monitors. ( 2 monitors at 1024x786). Is is possible to configure a G5 so that its 2 Mac displays are spanned and behave as one 2048x786?

That's the normal setup if you enter a spanning (non-mirrored) mode on a Mac. The Desktop will span the available monitors and you use the System Preferences pane to configure how the two are related to each other in space (you can probably do this programmatically as well, but I haven't done it). A 2048x768 borderless window placed in the lower left corner of the left monitor should do as you describe (that's using the Quartz coordinate system, where 0,0 is lower left).

Not much of a chance, especially considering there currently aren't any monitors supporting 786 pixels vertical (Yeah yeah, I know you meant 768).

There is really no reason why it shouldn't work though, although you should probably get someone to test it for you.

In any case go have a look in System Preferences -> Displays and see what options pop up there.
