My wife’s iPad Air2 has started playing up after charging. The battery shows 100% and wakes as normal. The screen then blanks and the machine shows the battery Empty symbol and will not then show the home screen until the iPad is restarted. After restart, same thing happens, about one minute after starting up, it crashes and does the same thing. Plug charger in and restart and you can use it, but the battery shows fully charged. Does it go to iPad heaven or is there a fix?

Thought it may do. I’ll have to contact Apple support for a price. Thanks.
Apple doesn't replace the battery, they exchange the device with a refurbished unit.. Battery service cost is $100 is your device is still eligible.

Afaik, all iPads should still be eligible. Only exception I think is if 3rd party repairs have been made to the iPad.

Thanks guys. We’ve decided to push the boat out and buy a new iPad 7. I note online batteries and kit for £20 to do it yourself. May give it a wiz and sell the iPad on EBay when (if) I do repair it.

Before you do so, did you ever do a hard reset on the iPad?

We now have a shiny new iPad 7. (or my wife does!) Ill have a play around with the old one in due course. It has actually been reset and deleted so its like a new one as far as set up is concerned.😀
