Keyboard already takes up 2/3 of the screen, can’t imagine a function row.So since there is not an updated Magic Keyboard for the IPP, it would be nice for Apple to add a function row in iPad OS. Maybe they will read this…lol
with the current form factor of the MK a function row is unlikely. Fingers can already hith the tablet while on numbers, it would be even worse with a function row (not that I wouldn't like it, but Apple would not consider it a good experience...)Most keys you would find in a function row are in the control center. I am all for Apple adding a physical function row to the Magic Keyboard, but I don’t see the purpose of adding a software solution that already exists elsewhere
I have it and it's great. But I wish there was a version like the Magic keyboard folio that works magnetically so that I can easily remove the iPad and use it naked too...IMO, Apple borrowed a good bit from the Logitech Combo Touch with their new Magic Keyboard Folio...
Combo Touch is available for the M1 Air & Pros, as well as the new M2 Pros; function keys for everyone...! ;^p
I'm glad they didn't borrow the part where the case surrounds the edges of the device and adds bulk. I'm hopeful that the Smart Connector returns to the edge on future higher end iPads and that folio keyboards are made for them too.IMO, Apple borrowed a good bit from the Logitech Combo Touch with their new Magic Keyboard Folio...

Then it's nice that iPads that exist in danger can enjoy the extra protection from the Logitech while iPads that live without fear can be light and easy. That bulk adds protection to the edges, which the Apple solutions do not; and in conjunction with the back protection, the side protection adds rigidity to the overall device, protecting from flex issues...?
Yeah, use cases are different, if you either use your iPad only at home (and maybe have no kids or pets either) and/or only carry in a computer pocket of your backpack, and want to benefit from the light weight of the device, Logitech solution is not for you (expect for the times where you need the extra protection)Then it's nice that iPads that exist in danger can enjoy the extra protection from the Logitech while iPads that live without fear can be light and easy.
