My Bluetooth disappeared after I applied the update and restarted. Rather, the menu applet was gone. I had go to go System Preferences to turn it on and off. Odd, I thought. I restarted and Bluetooth reappeared, directly to the left of Spotlight. It was turned on and appeared as if it was just noticed for the first time, however all my old pairing data was intact.

Just thought it was a bit odd. In any case, all is well now.

I've had this happen before too. I ended up having to zap my pram before my applet came back up.

This used to happen to me all the time!!!!

Especially if I moved the bluetooth icon somewhere else on the menu bar from where it chucked it to automatically.

Ahrg. In fact... it hasn't been doing it for awhile after I looked in my startup items in the Accounts Pane, and found a couple startup items that were "lost" - the location had changed and OSX didn't know where to look for them. After fixing that, the icon problem went away...

But looking just now - it's gone again.

Any ideas?

Somewhere over the rainbow
Same thing happened to me after I installed the upgrade. I went into system prefs, unchecked then checked the bit for showing bluetooth on the top of the screen, and then it came back.
