i had to post this cause i know someone besides me would find it funny...

tonight at the movies the crowd was leaving, my girl kneels down and picks up a white iphone and says "you would have been pissed if you lost this". i say yea, whew. but dawned on me i had mine in my pocket. so yea someone lost their phone. so i look at the battery and see it had only 15% (lol, alot of those going around) so i go out to the car, put it on the charger and proceed to call last numbers and finally someone answers. lucky for them they called who ever the guy was with and he shoots back up to the movies. i told them the car i was in blah blah. the guy walks up i asked him for i.d (if you check my post this is not the first time i have been down this road), it is him. now this is the hilarious part, i give him the phone and he insist on giving me some type of cash reward, i turn it down and now he is gettin a lil upset at me and his girlfriend cause i wont accept it LOL!!! the guy literally starts a long debate with his girl about how he should repay me. needless to say i got in the car and drove off.

guess you cant win for losing with these iphones huh?? LOL!

Lets see

OP is a good guy returns phone and honest good for you. OP refuses reward (which would have made owner fill good ended long conversation) OP comes here to tell up what a great guy he is!

Whats the matter with wanting a halo from your fellow Mac Rumor constituents? :D

I think the OP's point was he retuned the lost iphone, and the bloke gave him grief for refusing to accept the cash reward and basically made him feel uncomfortable by starting an argy with his girlfriend.

So now the OP wishes he never bothered to return the iphone.

Shame.

I have had lost items returned to me, and offered cash rewards and had them declined. I have then offered to donate the reward to a charity of the returners choice, or once or twice, just put the money on the table / under a cup and left quickly before they could refuse again :D

It's on you to make the returner feel good about returning stuff.

Some people get offended if you turn down a gift or reward. My solution is to say that I prefer not to receive the gift/reward, but if they insist I'll accept the gift/reward and donate it to a good charity. Given the disaster in Haiti, the American Red Cross would do...
