I was at the Verizon store getting my daughter a cell phone (all the while gloating about my imminent "churn" to ATT and the iPhone). An older gentleman walks in and asks one of the sales people if they have the iPhone yet. Her reply is: "We don't yet carry it, but please watch our website for any announcements about the iPhone."

Sounds like this poor guy is going to be checking the Verizon Web Site for the next 2-5 years....

it is funny how the Verizon executives are all badmouthing the iPhone.

We all know that Verizon excutives are panicking internally because they realized that they passed up a great opportunity re. iphone.

This is probably the funniest thing I'll read today...thank you very much. :D

I agree.

Personally, I am thrilled to be ditching Verizon after 6 years of good service, but horrible, feature-less handsets, not to mention their horrible ad campaign.

my dad had verizon since they first started. Every 2 years when his contract was up, he called up verizon and asked if they were going to put a tower where we lived. They always said "its in the works" and still we have no tower. Recently a GSM tower was put up, we wiggled out of our verizon because of a contract change, and signed up for cingular, best decision ever.

one of the reasons verizon wouldn't put up a tower was because "there wasn't that much interest" but now just about every day you get the network busy signal.

the other day my dad stopped into a radioshak and the guy asked if my dad wanted a new line of service. my dad said no, and that his son would kill him if he signed up for verizon because hes getting an iPhone, the verizon guy went on to say how the iPhone has bad call quality, and that verizon is coming out with an iphone killer that does everything the iPhone can, and more. my dad laughed and said good luck.

Same here. They were the original "bluetooth cripplers". I stayed with Verizon for 7 years mostly because of parents and girlfriends, but now my contract is finally up and theres something really good to make me want to switch.

Incidentally there's also a ATT tower very close to my house.

my folks live in manhattan and verizon offered them $3k/month to install a tower on top of their home. of course they rejected the offer because they were worried about all the radioactive waves that it might bring.

im really happy with verizon, and im sure they will have the iphone by the time revision A comes out. that is, at least im hoping they will! i have to match my ipod, and my macbook with an iphone, ya know?!

I think the only provider I have used for more then 2 contract cycles was Nextel. I had them for close to 4 years. Beyond that, I just have no loyalty when it comes to cell carriers. For the most part, they all suck and all pull different things. They all have crippled phones with their own buggy firmware.

Well ATT has an exclusive for 5 years; I doubt they'll only be on Rev A by the time it comes to Verizon.
