So, my "new" Mac Pro just farted. I've been connecting to the internet with my cell hotspot for more than 2 years now. Just now, the "new" Mac Pro refused to connect to the hotspot. It keeps bringing up the password required popup, and I keep entering the password and the Mac Pro REFUSES to connect! I was connected a few minutes ago, but then tried to get to another web page and NO CONNECTION!

THIS IS BS! (I'm writing this on my Early 2009 Mac Pro because the "new" Mac Pro WON'T CONNECT to the hotspot - and no, I'm not using a different cell).

The ONLY thing that has happened is this "new" Mac Pro rebooted overnight. I received an error message and sent it to Apple, though I may as well have sent it to the garbage can as I'm sure I won't hear anything from Apple.

The issue connecting to the hotspot occurred after the reboot last night.

Go into Network Preferences > Advanced and delete your hotspot from the list of Preferred Networks. Then power off the Mac Pro, remove the power cable and wait for 20 seconds, plug back in and try re-joining your hotspot network.

No idea if that will resolve your issue but that's what I would do.

Edit: You should also remove power from the hotspot--including removing the battery for ~30seconds.

Could be that it loses some of your settings after it reboots (crashes) overnight. Mine has been rebooting on it's own every 1-3 days since I got mine in July. They replaced my entire Mac Pro last month and the replacement has the same behavior. Which graphics card does yours have?

When mine crashes it usually knocks out my external sound settings via the optical port on my CalDigit - so you may be seeing something similar? I have submitted probably 100 Crash Reports to Apple, but don't expect much.
