I accept that ordinarily the best solution would be to keep the two separated, as a 1TB SSD is large enough for all needs.

However, I am a OneDrive user and OneDrive will not allow to split its folder between two drives.
Some of the data I have on OneDrive would be best located on the SSD for maximum speed, whereas the larger bulk can happily sit on an HDD as speed is not relevant.
In my case, a 2TB Fusion Drive (1TB SSD + 1TB HDD) would solve the problem as the great majority of the data I use would almost permanently reside on the SSD and only the rarely used files would spill onto the HDD.

So, out of curiosity, has anybody created a Fusion Drive with 1TB SSD + 1TB HDD?

I’ve not created one that big as I went for separate drives but I don’t see any reason not to.

I would suggest ensuring your drives are using HFS+ rather than APFS as the file system.

APFS is one of my biggest worries as I am planning to upgrade to Mojave.
I am currently on Sierra.
