I'm putting off buying a wireless home theater system because I would like to wait for the ATV or the Mac Mini being future proof.

What I would like to see is:

1. Blu-Ray
2. HDMI output
3. 1TB HDD
4. 8GB RAM

These four basic specs would open my wallet to really embrace Apple as my home theater console. It would be future proof since I would have the ability to download 1080p movies and also allow me to burn them to Blu-Ray discs for future storage. Right now, my PS3 is doing a great job but I'd like something more simple to use and search with a greater variety of sources.

I know people are against BR and HDMI but I recently moved from MS to Apple by buying an unibody 15" MBP. I'd like to see more mainstream compatibility without buying extra accessories and add-ons to watch 1080p movies with a Mac in any flavor.

Please Apple, listen to my wishes. :apple:

ATV: You're gonna be waiting a hell of a long time...

Mini: maybe...maybe...but I doubt it...

Seriously you're off your rocker on the ATV wishes. Keep dreaming. The only thing I can say is I thought (at least mine seems to) the ATV had HDMI output.

You probably won't see Apple go from 160 GB to 1 TB any time soon. You can probably bet that if they don't orphan the set you'll see 320 gb by end of year. Other than that, not a chance. If you give BR support by end of year I'll be surprised ... real surprised.

You want future proof? Never purchase another piece of tech again, it's just not your market. ;)
