Hello everyone!

After a whole life as Android user (11 years) I have decided to switch to Apple for many reasons and I intend to buy an iPhone 13. However I have some doubt and I'd like to ask for your support even if I already know that some things will be seen as trivial by most of you.
Here we go:

- What's the bet way, for a new user, to buy a new iPhone at dayone? I mean... go to the Apple Store? Buy it from the official website? I read on some forum people suggesting to use "the App", but which app are they talking about?
If it can help my wife just got an iPad so she is actually an Apple user with Apple hardware.

- Why all this interest in storage? I mean it's like 2 years that I've got a Pixel 4 with 64Gb and now I'm using more or less 70% of the storage. In 2021 I do not keep the photo on the phone, I use the Google Photo cloud service and for the music I use Apple Music. I've got (as most of the people here in Italy) a lot of Gb in the phone service plan so there's not even the need to lower the streaming quality.

- The Widgets on iPhone they don't work as on Android right? where you actually "place" them on an empty space of one of the desktop pages, right?

- I already use some of the Apple services, such as TV and Music. Is it possible to change the country in Music (and Apple Music only I mean)? I hate italian music (modern one) and having the Apple playlist full of that force me to keep on skipping track which is really boring

I hope you can help me to solve these doubts, meanwhile thank you!

Ciao from France and welcome to Apple world! 😊🖐

1) Buying on day 1. There are several options - going to the physical Apple Store (might get crowded around the launch times, though), ordering from Apple’s own website or through the Apple Store dedicated app, which is this:

2) The storage needs depend on our individual usage, some people prefer keeping their data on device, others - in the cloud. For your described scenario 64 Gb should be enough.

3) Apple widgets are more “static”, compared to those on Android. You can now place them anywhere on your home pages in different sizes.

4) Apple Music. If your Apple account is linked to Italy, you will inevitably get some Italian music thrown in. However, you can gradually train it by “disliking” certain songs. The more you use it, the more it will learn about your listening habits and, hopefully, will start offering you better playlists. Having said that, after using Apple Music for about 6-7 months in total, I personally find Spotify much better, so cancelled my Apple Music subscription now.

Thank you for the reply!

In relation to the first point, not considering going to the physical store, is there any difference between using the app or just using the Apple official website? And is there any difference/priority between current Apple users and new ones? Like the Apple users can preorder before the others...

Ordering through apple's website is the same as through the app. Just a different interface.

The only priority anyone gets is when they order. The first orders in get shipped out first etc.

There is no priority, it is just some people are very eager to get their iPhones first, so they use different techniques. From previous iPhone launches, however, I remember people complaining that Apple’s website could get overwhelmed and less accessible as soon as the pre-orders open, while the Apple Store app handled it better.

Widgets are placed similar to apps, they snap to a "grid" where an app placement would be.
Can't place them in a empty space, they'll snap back in the order of the grid.

For my front page I keep 2 widgets at the top here's a pic.
