What would you guys wanna see in future updates to notification center? I know what I want to access settings...as do most people on this forum...and I want third party apps to have APIs so I can check scores for sports games quicker, send facebook status, etc...anything else?

not sure if this really fits in with what your asking for but i would like the ability to respond to a text from the lock screen.

Id like the SBS settings icons in the notification center.

Being able to quickly switch on/off bluetooth or wireless will greatly simplify the issue of always having to go into setting. It'd be slide and press...wonderful

Checking rss feeds or any news stream would be great.
Also, since it's easier to access (and has more visual potential) than the app switcher, a quick way to switch between apps that don't already have a notification waiting would be nice (like how the weather widget can launch the app).
and SBSetting is a must of course.

Severe Weather alerts based on my current location.

The iPhone's weather app doesn't have any weather alerts and the Weather Channel app doesn't send notifications for them either (at least not the free app - not sure about the paid one, or if there is a paid one)

There is an app that will do severe weather warnings. I haven't checked it out in the Notification center, but it does audio alerts. iMapWeather Radio is the name.

Ability to "Quick Reply" on things like iMessage and Facebook Chat. I am so sick of constantly switching apps to send back a reply.

Not a complete solution, but you can use Siri for quick replies to text messages.

As much as I would love 3rd party widgets, I just don't see Apple ever allowing it. It would bog down the notification center too much. Imagine if you had 20 widgets...that's 20 things your phone has to instantly load every time you swipe down. It just doesn't seem realistic.

I would like the ability to turn off the notification center completely. That is, to have a master on/off toggle for it. There occasions this would have been nice to have.

why? what's the point..

you'd have "slide to view text" right now, and it takes you straight to that conversation.

is it really that much more work to re-lock your phone?

That many widgets would definitely be impractical. Though one possible solution would be to only allow a fixed number of widgets in the notfications bar at one time. Like perhaps five or six. You could toggle which widgets you want in settings.

Settings would be great. Ability to select WiFi network, turn bluetooth on and off, turn 3G on and off, but most importantly, a quick and easy way to adjust the brightness.

I want notifications to clear when I've read them elsewhere. Such as Facebook (though it's their end that needs improving). For some reason, even with iCloud email, if I read an email on my Mac, it still shows up as unread on my iPhone most of the time, until I load the Mail app and it updates. Got push on and pull set to 15 mins. It's always been like that, even with iOS 4 and MobileMe.

I like the concept of widgets, but would rather have them on the home screen as well as in the notification centre.

The ability to silence notifications during a phone call!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am sick of getting loud tones or vibrations in my ear while in the middle of phone call.

It's not about "work" it's about conveinence. Im just used to BiteSMS and being able to reply from the lockscreen and even compose from the lockscreen.

ok but you aren't understanding what i'm trying to say.

i don't use bitesms, and never have.. so correct me if i'm wrong, but dont you have to slide to reply anyways?

how's that different than "sliding to view" a text message? it brings you to the same screen pretty much...

So all you guys saying to copy Android??

^^.^^

Looks certainly like there is be no difference between Android and iOS if all above suggestions are implemented.

Quick reply from notification, quick setting toggles, widgets for common tasks...hmm, everything is there already in Android since a long time.

With BiteSMS you do not have to slide at at all. You hit reply and the keyboard and dialog box appear inside the lockscreen. You type your message and hit send. You can also hit the home button from the lockscreen when a text appears to close it. So for the messages you get like "ok" that do not need a response you do not have to unlock your device to clear the message.

Quiet mode that turns off/silences all notifications and turns them back on when the alarm goes off in the morning. Notifications when asleep are not very welcome.
