Future of iCloud.com?

As we have seen iOS, and to some extent OSX, move away from textures and go for a flatter look, will iCloud follow suit? And will anything change beyond the appearance?

Personally, I have always felt that iCloud.com was lacking and the UI with iOS looking icons is annoying and inefficient .

I'm hoping that along with a new clean look, we get a complete UI redesign more along the lines of OSX that offers more functionality. I'm also hoping for new features. We already know iWork will be included, but what about a way to view your photo stream online and a media player for iTunes radio and your purchased iTunes content?

I'd love to hear your thoughts about iCloud.com. When do you think it will get an update? What do you think it needs?

Well we know the iWork apps will be available via iCloud. I suspect there will be an update around the time Mavericks or iOS 7 releases.

I have faith in iCloud but it really need a new redesign and a better stability.

I mean Apple should consider that many people use iCloud as email service instead of Gmail, and compared to Gmail, and it's so much worse iCloud imo.

Maybe they will update the site once iOS 7 will come out, but it's a lot of time - and what I dislike of Apple it's their slow speed on release new stuff.

Agree on the slow release cycles, but the payoff is generally there in terms of experience. I'm sure the visuals of the site will be updated this fall if for no other reason than to have everything matching across platform.

Now I'm thinking that in addition to a redesign, they could add acess to iBooks, newsstand, find my friends etc. and do a Dropbox like integration with OSX finder for file storage.

OH that makes me think of something else they could add to iCloud in general. Improve the Foldering. I have Google Drive because I can sequester all my stories from my schoolwork from everything else. And I can sequester each story inside their own folders or each class inside its own.

And so forth.

It makes it easier to keep everything organized than the way iCloud currently does it.

iCloud.com needs to offer you the ability to browse an iCloud folder hierarchy where you can upload and download any file you want.

Sadly for you, this will never happen, as Apple is moving away from hierarchical file folder systems in favor of app management. But feel free to keep floating down that pipe dream.

Thats why I am using Copy, the service I linked to earlier. It works just like Dropbox but they give you more free space and unlimited referrals. I am at half a terabyte of free space.
