I just received my OWCMEFW924AL2OB drive enclosure in the mail. I'll be getting 2 Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3320620AS 320gb drives next week. Currently the enclosure only supports raid 0 which I'm not really interested in.

I want to use these drives primarily as back-ups for my PC and my MBP but I'm wondering if anyone uses fw800 external drives as scratch volumes. Additionally - has anyone used a Raid 1 array as a scratch volume and if so does it work or does the extra data being sent negate the benefits of such a setup?

I would doubt it. I use a FW400 external as my main drive for my Mini and it is faster than booting from the internal drive. I would think an 800 would be plenty fast for your use, at least compared to the 2.5 drive in the laptop. Don't know about connection issues with the software (do you mean Photoshop scratch or something?) when you keep swapping it out, though.

Yes - specifically Photoshop. I'll have to figure a workaround or call the techs at Adobe when I've ponied up for CS3.
