Anyone using a 250GB G-Drive Mini with their MBA?

The drive requires too much power to be used on my 12" Powerbook via USB. I have to use firewire. Obviously this would present a problem with the MBA. (Oddly, my Xbox 360 has no problem mounting the drive via USB).

Gracioso.

Older USBs dont support enough power for hard drives, but I'm pretty sure the MBA has enough juice in that one USB port. Try connecting the G-Drive to it and see if it mounts.

The G-Drive manual, IIRC states that many USB ports can not power the drive...it makes no distinction between older and newer computers.

I would love to try it, but I don't have an MBA. I didn't even finish college.

If its any help I power my Superdrive and my WDPassport (old IDE inefficient one) from the MBA with no problems so I would assume your G-Drive should play nice.
