I have firefox and entourage open and this G5 with dual processors is humming like a plane ready to take- off. Why does this happen?

It is most likely the RAM or an external device that could be causing this. I had the same problem and it was 3rd party RAM. Is that RAM 2 x 512? They need to be matched pairs.
