I finally ordered one, got it off ebay for $1025 with free shipping.

YESSS. I will be sure to take some pictures of the beauty, I just wanted to start this thread in my excitement.

Thanks for the help guys, if not for you I would've bought a 1.6GHz 17" iMac G5 Rev A for around $930!

That is a great unit, I'm sure you will love it. I just bought a refurb of the same machine from Apple; my son already had the 20" version and loves it.

Be careful when you're looking at previous version iMacs.

You should be sure that you're getting the Rev "B" or later to avoid the widespread midplane board capacitor problems that occured in the Rev "A"
1.6 and 1.8 models.

The easiest way to determine that you're getting a Rev "B" is that it will come
with the updated 128 MB VRAM GPU.

The earlier Rev "A" 17" and 20" came with 64MB VRAM.

The current Rev "C" 17" WS iSight model is by far the best choice for $1299 retail or $1199 education IF you can swing the difference or upgrade to the
20" Rev "C"
With larger hard drives, PCI-Express, improved displays and iSight the newest Rev "C" offers the best out of box configuration Apple has ever offered for the money.

It will be VERY interesting to see what Apple offers in the first Rev "D"
Intel models. If they go dual core 2.0 GHz or better with cooler running
processors, those could be very attractive.

When I ordered mine, the Rev A refurb was $749 and the Rev B refurb was $849, which I considered a no-brainer for only $100 more and you get Rev B, bigger SATA HD, wifi, and bt. I'm very happy with mine.
