I've got a dual core 2.0GHz G5 currently w/ 2GB of memory. I would like to buy some more memory soon and I would like to buy from someone other than Apple due to price. Does anyone know for sure what the CAS timing is for the memory modules that are currently being shipped in the G5s? I would like the new memory modules to be virtually the same as the stock Apple modules I currently have in there, but just a different brand. Thanks.

If you purchase memory from a dealer that guarantees Mac compatibility (such as datamem.com), you'll get the correct timings.
I am a big fan of Crucial. The offer good prices and have a life-time guarantee. You can use their upgrade tool to find the exsact memory you need, and you can ask a "live" tech about exsact specs in real time. Nothing states that you have to use Crucial after useing their tools.
I have never had a problem with Crucial ram. They are almost the least expensive, but the service is worth it. Good to be penny wise and pound wise.

Yeah, basically go with either Crucial.com or Datamem.com and you can't go wrong. Both guarantee compatibility with your specific Mac, both sell solid products, and both offer a lifetime warranty.
Crucial is more expensive (how much varies by the particular type of RAM--a lot more on older and very new stuff, not so much in the middle), but in theory better quality. It's "name brand" so to speak, but at lower prices than the other name brands because they sell direct. Datamem is technically generic, but it's good stuff as well, and still has the lifetime warranty--I've used their stuff in everything from first-gen iMacs to the 17" MacBook Pro I'm typing on right now and never had a problem, even after years of use in some cases.
