just found this at a garage sale.. anyone know what this machine is? Looks like a regular G5 tower but it has these curious Microsoft stickers on it. It was also in a box with this graphics card
Early Xbox 360 development kit.
really? people would pay money for an outdated computer just because it was used in development of an XBox?Wow surely you can sell it on eBay for a lot of money.
hahaha clearly I don't know any of the history here... not a gamer or computer guyShhhhhh. Don't tell anyone, but what you'er holding there is proof that Apple stole the G5 from microsoft.

Absolutely yes, you have a very rare piece of tech that collectionist surely they pay a lot of money for that. Especially a thing that you can't buy at store, that makes specially rare.
hahaha I thought about it, but don't want any Men in Black at my doorFunny to see that the development hardware for the Xbox 360 was the complete other way around to what they used in the original Xbox (PowerPC + Ati vs Pentium 3 + Nvidia). And they did actually went with PowerPC + Ati for the Xbox 360, I guess this was the cheapest way of getting hands-on experience with similar hardware for the developers back then, although it must have been a tiny bit painful for Microsoft to ship out Macs haha. It's a really cool garage-sale find you got there! Could you tell more about the specs of this machine? Very interesting
By the way, if you have any questions regarding this machine just contact MGSxenon@microsoft.com they can tell you all about it
hahaha really? I'll let them knowYou should post this in the PowerPc section of the forum, the posters there would kill for one of these!
And also the first G5 came out in 2003 so Apple didn't steal it from Microsoft lolhahaha clearly I don't know any of the history here... not a gamer or computer guy
