'Sup dooders, sorry about everybody's bitter disapointment at the lack of an iphone announcement yesterday, I for one was hoping but did think it was perhaps too good to be true....Anyway, some bitter disapointment of my own, my G5 seems to be having some disk reading problems.....burned a data DVD yesterday and when I ejected the disk, the tray did not fully come out, thought it was weird but pushed the eject button again and in it went and came out properly on next eject.....tonight however, tray goes in and out perfectly normally but nothing happens when I put a disk in, no spinning noise, nothing??? Anyone had this problem before??? I haven't taken the cover off yet to see if there's something sticking but thought I'd ask first.....

is it not responding to any discs, or just the data disc you burned?

My powerbook doesn't like certain branded CD-R and DVD-R media, mostly the brands with lighter inks on the bottom. Just a thought.

cd's/dvd's??

good point, I put in a couple different cd's including the Apple hardware test cd that came with the machine and I'm getting nothing, it's not spinning so I'm wondering if it's hooped?? Burned a DVD last night and it was kinda weird on the eject side of things but that seemed fine today.....
