"I actually have a MacBook Pro now that I'm using for my notebook" - Gaben

Gaben, the bravest man ever to walk on this planet, uses a MacBook Pro for his notebook. Praise be unto Gabe Newell, and praise be unto Apple. :) :apple:

I don't think Gabe is the bravest man to walk on this planet. I do hope he is happy with his MBP however. I also hope he plans on supporting Windows 8 anyway, because it is awesome.

Uh who and what makes him the bravest man in the world?

He just does whatever the fudge he wants, has it work out just fine, and people then praise him for it. Invested his own money to start Valve, invested his own money to get Half Life done. Gave out his Steam username to prove how strong the new Steam security measures are. Talks about piracy and the dark parts of the internet that usually results in retaliation for others who do the same. Being a public advocat for Apple computers despite being one of gamings most influential people is a big leap out of the closet.

A huge risk taker if there ever was one.

While it's cool that Microsoft is trying new stuff, there is nothing really awesome about Windows 8, yet. The hybrid mix of an unpolished UI, controls, and apps is rather messy. Felt like they got stuck half-way, so to speak. Future will tell how it goes...

Have you ever actually used Windows 8? It feels very polished, and whats so messy about the Apps? More Apps exist for Windows than every other OS put together.

I'd put it a step above the gimmick that is 10.7 and 10.8. What happened to good OSX's?

Let's frame the context : He works in video games. Bravest man ever ? Hyperbole if I ever seen one.

And who cares that he has a MBP ? Doesn't really mean anything, gaming is not coming to Macs as it is on PCs or consoles. Tim Sweeney, John Carmack bothed backed Linux for quite a while in the Unreal Tournament and Quake 2/3 days, and here we are today, Linux gaming is not being a reality.

These industry figures head aren't able to displace the massive stagnation that is Windows PC gaming.

Check out this:

From the Forums: Windows 8 design inconsistencies!

Windows 8 is a half-baked mess, and not a glorious one at that.

Yeah, there are a few graphical errors at the moment. Big deal there are a few missing pixels here and there. Updates will iron them out in time. It isn't as if Apple release totally perfect x.0 releases either. In fact, a lot of OS and software developers don't.

I think I can excuse Windows 8 for a few interface glitches and 'missing pixels'.

Yes, I have used Windows 8. And I stated my opinion of it. And you have yours. I have no problem with that, and will not get into any argument.

Why are ya'll acting like he's changed sides in a war? I'm sure Gabe has used Macs throughout his life.
