Gah! Outlook not working

Anyone have a good fix for Outlook 2011 to work with El Capitan? I've tried a couple things listed in these threads (get info > low resolution doesn't exist in my list for some reason). It's driving me insane since my work is so Outlook dependent. May have to downgrade to Yosemite but that looks like it's a pain in the arse.

Microsoft has fumbled this badly. Their official tech note on this says that the workaround is to not upgrade to 10.11.
