Galaxy Gear S questions

Ok so at one point I played around with Galaxy phones and had a Note 3 as well as an original Galaxy Gear. At the time there was an app that allowed you to create a custom watch face. I was wondering is that still around now on the newer watches? Also is the watch display always on with the Gear S?
