Hi all,

I recently switched over from my iPhone 4 to the Galaxy Nexus. I like the OS, however, one thing I hate is the battery life. I can hardly get through a day (with light/medium usage) and also when using Google Nav, even if it's plugged in to the car charger, the battery decreases. Is it just my phone? Am I using it incorrectly? What phone would you reccomend for great battery life?

Thanks,
Pietro

I was having really bad battery issue and realized it was the screens auto brightness...using 44% of my battery in the stats. I turned auto off and manually lowered it to where I like it, and have seen a night and day difference. I was draining at what felt like a % a minute. I think that may be a bug or something with 4.2

Thanks for the tip. I just turned off auto-brightness and turned it low (it gets bright fast i noticed), I'll see how that works out over the day. Do you use the LED notification light? Any idea on how that one drains the battery?

This is the Achilles heel of the Nexus. I'm assuming it is due to it's power hungry CPU and LTE chip and low capacity battery.

not sure about that notification light...I do leave mine on. I seriously instantly noticed a difference turning the auto brightness off. I was draining so much battery being idle in my pocket....since doing that, I have lost 2% over about 45 mins compared to the 8 or 9% before. Weird that it would have an effect when my screen is off, but it definitely did.

i've had the galaxy nexus for a while and yes battery life is horrible! I have the verizon lte version and it sucks. great phone but the battery just sucks so bad! i have 4.2 as soon as the developers got it out. But on average my battery only lasts about 6 hours.
