Hey guys,

I've bought 2 iPads and sold both of them because they just didn't do enough of what I wanted. Anyways I have been seriously considering a Galaxy Note 10.1 for notes in college, surfing the internet, and general media consumption. Anyways I went to a Best Buy today and wan't very impressed.

While I was browsing on the internet connecting to my school's website, the webpage became unresponsive multiple times. Do other people experience unresponsiveness while surfing the internet or in general use in the OS/apps? It was a demo model and looked pretty beat up so that could be causing the problem. If this is a common problem then I'll probably pass up the Note.

Anyways my main reason for wanting a Note 10.1 is to take notes in lectures, mark up PDFs I have to read, do some research for papers, surf the internet, and consume media.
Do you use your Note similarly? How do you use your Note's? Any and all feedback would be much appreciated.

The problems connecting was most likely due to best buys wifi, not the tablet. I had one and it was ok. The pen function sucks IMO, much easier to just type on a keyboard then write on it. The display is also pretty low resolution for the price. It should be $399 not $499.

If as the previous user said the spen sucks (never used) then you might be better off getting a Nexus 10. Higher resolution screen than an iPad, faster, and of course you can use a capacitive stylus.

That's pretty disappointing to hear as the Spen was the only reason I was considering the Note 10.1. I tried to use a capacitive stylus on an iPad but hated it. i was hoping that note taking digitally would be a lot better on the Note

Not sure what the above posters are talking about but the s-pen is the best thing about the Note 10.1. The screen resolution is not the best but sacrifices needed to be made to have the Wacom digitizer installed. It's the best way for me to draw with precise detail compared to the pens I've used with the iPad. Also taking notes on it is great and I love the handwriting to text conversion.

That's good to hear. I'm not worried about the resolution too much. It looked fine when I was at Best Buy. But then again I'm one of the few people who actually think the iPad Mini's screen is just fine. I'm glad someone likes the s-pen
