Why do you think there have been no news or rumours on this? it was out what, may last year? do you think they will release it this year?

as tempted by the 8.4 S Tab but don't want to risk it if the note 8.0 is out anytime soon.

I haven't heard anything about an updated Note 8.0. But with Samsung, you never know.

The Note 8 imo was the worse ever Samsung device ever built for price. Hugely expensive for what it is. Should have come in at half its cost. I dont remember to price anymore because it was that forgetful.

I doubt they will be replacing such a flop.

The screen is the only downside to me. It is just way behind the times now. Screen is terrible next to my 12.2 note

As for the initial price, it was overpriced. Also, compared to newer tablets, the screen is inferior. However, it is a decent tablet with an s pen. What other 8" tablet has that? It was extremely useful in meetings and on the go. For a good year, I enjoyed mine. Hopefully, Samsung releases another with a superior screen, s pen, and reasonable price.

Yeah I'm surprised at this too, I thought it would have been natural for them to just make a Note version of the Tab S 8.4. Maybe they're afraid that would cut into their Note 4 sales or something.

Still hope it's coming though. If I go for the 6 Plus as my new phone, an up-to-date Note 8.0 would be the perfect Android sidekick, giving me an opportunity to really make use of the S Pen features when I don't have them on my phone anymore.

Yeah the screen was the real downer with that device. Whereas the screens on the Tab S tablets are just gorgeous. A Note built around that screen would be brilliant.

certainly is, i still use it quite alot now. You just get spoiled with these high quailty screens.

Sure, it is a nice device! I think some are just more sensitive to screen resolution than others. And the design of the exterior got a bit dated pretty fast IMO, leaning more towards the Note 2 that was released 9 months earlier than towards the 3 that came three months later.

In any case, my main concern is just that a 8.4 Tab S with a S Pen would be such a perfect Note tablet, it's just odd that they haven't made it happen.

yep, I will be forced to wait and see. Can't see how they don't bring one out. Just weird there's no rumours.
