Granted this is only leaked info yet to be confirmed by Sammy, but I'm leaning more towards this being true. So this is exactly what I was waiting for, a GS3 running Windows Phone 8. WOW! Cannot wait to get this. I will definitely keep my GS3 at the same time. I'm more than happy to run both.

Thread title is pretty misleading. The article simply says that one of Samsung's Win8 phones will have pretty much the same specs as the GS3.

I am interested in Nokia's offerings for WP8, but I'm certainly going to check out what Samsung has to offer. If they can put the GS3 magic into WP it should be nice.

Dang, I'm gonna be all over this in a hurry. I've always felt Windows Phone was lacking the heavy hitting hardware, but this fixes it big time. Contrary to many on this board, Hardware does matter, especially when your talking about future updates. I like keeping my phones 2 to 3 years, and you better believe I don't want the developers of the OS using "lack of hardware" as an excuse for me to get a watered down update. Bring it on!

I think a lumia will be better, or even an HTC offering than the plastic samsung will give us.

Whether you want to admit or not, Sammy has made all the right moves to put them at the head of the Android nation. As for WP, Nokia gave it a shot, and it was so-so. Windows Phone is still nowhere. Most people I know say it doesn't have the hardware they want. The lumia is thick and heavy. Two things you don't want a mobile device to be. My guess is that the Samsung Odyssey, if indeed it turns out to be a GS3 WP8, will be the biggest selling WP8 device. Now of course it's no leap on my part to make such a bet, but it does point out the presence Sammy has made in the smartphone market. Let me just say, most of my friends than have a 4S and love the GS3 but not Android, just committed to this phone.

Agree, just says the specs are the same as GS3

He was referring to the original title, the OP updated it. It's not misleading anymore.

Currently using a GS3 and having used a lumia 800 in the past, i am amazed at how people love this cheap feeling exterior compared to the nicer feeling lumia gives. Even the One X was far better.

Samsung has just learned how to market things better. There is no "lumia headquarters" in carrier stores here. Every carrier nowadays has iPhone displays on one side, and a full "galaxy headquarters" on the other showcasing everything galaxy. Even the poor One line from HTC is forgotten. Even though in my opinion, the One X is toe to toe with the GS3.

Hype sells, and samsung has positioned themselves as "iPhone alternative" in people's minds. The result is expected.
