Wow, I didn't see this coming, 1saleaday.com have the Galaxy S4 for only $550.

I guess it's good news for Android fans, but I can't help but question, how well is the S4 selling for Samsung to discount it by a $100 when it's only 3 months old?

Not too much considering an unlocked Galaxy S4 could be bought for ~$600 near the end of June. Sales like these happen for Android devices on eBay and other daily deal sites all the time. I would have considered picking this up if it were the i9500...

The Galaxy S4 has sold over 20 million units since the beginning of this month, apparently, if that's any indication of how sales are going.

Looks like a third party website that has the S4 on sale for 24 hours.

Samsung didn't discount anything.

This sale is in no way influenced by the current sales volume. Rather it's simply a way to get even more into the hands of consumers. It's no different than others that offer their products on sale from time to time.

That website probably discounted it for the free publicity, not because they were struggling to sell the phones. Either way, as others have pointed out, Samsung itself hasn't discounted anything.

Its $579 at T-Mobile. Just because they dont hold on to the top dollar figure that Apple does, doesnt mean anything. Hec T-Mobile was selling the iPhone 5 for less than Apple sells it for. Does that make it bad?
It could be $500 and i still wouldnt buy a iPhone 5.

Far as i know, the GS4 is selling well and has broken all the Galaxy line sale figures for the others. Android phones go on sale all the time.

I'd rather get the Google Edition GS4 for a $100 more.

Nice deal otherwise.

If you do some research on it, i dont think it is worth it. You dont get all the camera features or gestures and its been reported that it may not get the updates updates from Google. It was posted in here someplace. Maybe the GS4 thread.

Yeah, I can see that argument being made.

It'll still be updated far faster than a TouchWiz/carrier-approval version, though, me thinks.

True, it's a 24 hour sale site, however, I have been following the site for over 3 years, RARELY do they have a 'premium' item like this one. They never sold iPhones, and even the Galaxy S3 made its debut there 9 months after its release.

I just find it odd that a premium phone would make it to a discount site so quickly, that's all.
