Kind of pre-mature but who all is thinking about hopping on the Galaxy S4 train? Or anyone plan on holding out for the iPhone 5S?

It's iPhone 5S for me.

No way would I get a Samsung phone, I'd rather get a Sony, HTC or Nokia even before Samsung.

They are rip off artists.

I'll be waiting to see what both phones entail, but I'm looking forward to both. What will tip the scale for me is the iOS 7 revamp (God and Ive-willing) and hopefully a die shrink in the A7 and the use of Qualcomm's new global LTE chip to finally get some better battery life, and hopefully with component shrinkage, some extra battery too. Apple won't be making any design changes this generation, but I'm finding the S iteration are much more refined devices. The 3GS is a good phone (bro in law has one and loves it still) and I my 4S that I love sans the battery life. I won't hesitate to say that the HTC One, Sony Xperia Z, Blackberry Z10, and Galaxy Note II aren't supremely appealing.

I am waiting for the iPhone 5s or the iPhone 6. Don't like the design of samsung galaxy s3, so does the s4. Ugly in my eyes. So I will choose the iPhone though the samsung devices have powerful specs and the s pen.
Will buy one for my girlfriend once Apple released the new device.

Getting the S4 alongside the iPhone 5...worth testing of both worlds now rather than burying ones head in the sand.

I'm locked into my contract on my iPhone 5 so its a no brainer for me - neither phone. I like the S3 phone but I'm pretty well ingrained in the apple ecosystem so when the iPhone 6 hits the streets in 2014, I'll probably opt for that.

I didn't vote because I went in a diff direction, I went from the IP5 to the Galaxy Note II, and I love the phone, however the only thing that bothers me is the size and the fact with the iPhones I can really use the device with one hand, however I just need some more time with the Note II to get used to it.

A lot of folks I work with went from the iPhone 4 or 4S to the S3 and love it, but that being said I am waiting for the iPhone 6 if Apple changes the iOS and size to 4.5 or 4.7 I will be heading back. This is my first NON iPhone since the 3G

I think you should look into the nexus 4 if you like the note 2, but want smaller. Obviously the s3 would be the exact same almost, but the nexus will get keylime pie.

Waiting.

I doubt Apple will make changes to iOS and as much as I love android/Samsung, I'm getting tired of their Build Quality.

I'm getting hTc One so I'm in no rush with these two.

Nothing left in hardware for Apple to drastically improve. 4S and 5 have cpu cycles and network bandwidth to spare. Going to be hard to tempt people to upgrade.

Major iOS UI refresh allowed only for 5S... Lure people with software and pretty GUI.

The S4 will better be compared with the current iPhone 5. The 5S will be a competitor to the S5.

If the 5S is the same size with faster CPU, maybe more RAM and a better camera, then the S4 will be way farther ahead of it, and will be a more suitable competitor to the iPhone 6, by which time Samsung might have the Note 3 and will be readying the Galaxy S5.

That has to be the kicker with the 5s is iOS specific functions. I do not see them upgrading the hardware design this cycle, so we could expect the same design, a bump in processing power as it is expected and makes for good marketing...ITS 40% FASTER...AMAZING says Tim Cook in a less than credible way.

And then, if Apple does come out with some great iOS features only for the 5s, there are going to be millions of really pissed off iPhone 5 owners locked into a contract without an upgrade or not wanting to face an expensive buy up option.

Apple is in a no win situation going against a phone that has been in the design since probably before the 5 came out and Apple cannot just turn on a dime and design a new iPhone in such a short time.

Of course, Apple has been known to surprise us before, and they could pull a rabbit out of the hat, but my guess the 5s will be a 5 with a spec sheet bump and maybe some small iOS exclusive features...and it will still sell millions.

I'm waiting & hoping for just one thing.

A larger display for the next iPhone.

I really enjoy OS X & my various Mac Laptops. They keep me loyal to Apple. Thus in turn I'd really like an iPhone I could be enthused with & enjoy.

If Apple fails to include a proper display, I'm done with iPhones. Yet I will remain an Apple computer enthusiast.

Respectfully I disagree.

Apple has sat back resting on their laurels. They are very well aware of the benefits of a 4.8" display as implemented on the Galaxy S 3. They've had more than enough time to design a modern sized phone.

If they need longer for some reason, they're the masters of seeing that a "leak" surfaces indicating there may be a larger display as we once witnessed, yet hasn't been repeated as other leaks have. With Apple it is more of a narcissist, ego driven issue. Remnants from the Steve Jobs Era.

It's 2013 on my calendar, at a glance, my iPhone 5 looks like it's 2010.

If Apple release:

- A larger screen iPhone (about 5")
- Nail iOS 7

then I'd definitely stay with Apple. Otherwise I'm very tempted, and it's an annoying waiting game at the moment.

I bought the Note II but ask good as it is I can not deal with the screen or lack of iPhone features I am used to so back to IP5 for me.
