Galaxy S6 gets hot during charging!!! HELP!!! :(

When I use the Samsung Galaxy S6 while charging (not fast charge just the standard charging) and when using it at the same time the phone gets hot like it is up to around like 70C/75C at times when just using the phone for simple tasks like Web browsing, playing games and video watching, etc.

And at the same time I don't have any apps open in the background, all closed and the screen brightness is always around half way 50% and sometimes under and have the CPU power saving mode on as well.

But I don't get why the phone gets hot while charging when using it, it should not happen a least not that hot anyway because when using my ipad Air 2 while charging it never get that hot compared to my Galaxy S6 phone.

But I am wondering is it normal that my Galaxy S6 gets hot up to around 70C/75C(at times) while charging(not fast charging, just the standard charging) using it at the same time?? Should I be worried about it?? Is there something wrong with my S6??

That doesn't sound right. Some devices get warm but if they are getting 'hot' it's a sign something is not correct IMO. The longevity of the device will not be great either.

Get in touch with your carrier and Samsung would be my advice.

Yes you should be worried. Those temperatures will not be good for the hardware or indicative of a fault with the hardware. I would contact Samsung and seek a warranty repair / service.

Those temps are definitely not normal while charging or even fast charging. The only time I ever experienced the S6 going up to those temps were while using Gear VR.

But my average cpu temperature is around 55C to 65C while charging when using it most of the times.

It sometimes gets up to around 75C.


Is that safe?? Is it normal?? Should I still take it back and get a replacement??

I don't think that is reasonable and if a manufacturer stated that they feel that is normal, I would be looking for a new device. My phone certainly doesn't get hot when charging and that is something I expect. If heat is being expelled when connected to power, I would expect the internals to have a short life at the very least and a possible fire risk at the extreme end.

I would definitely seek advice from the manufacturer on this Shaun.
