If any of you are looking for a media consumption device that you plan on leaving in the house, get yourself the Galaxy View. I mainly bought it because of the massive 18.4 inch screen. No tablet/laptop compares for that display size. I have two 65 inch 4K TVs, yet I find myself constantly going for the Galaxy View, just because it's so mobile, going room to room. I've recommended it to family and friends, and the ones that have purchased one, have no regrets. So when I'm working out in the home gym, cooking in the kitchen, relaxing on the back deck, or even the bedroom, the Galaxy View is just perfect for the occasion. I'm surprised this thing doesn't get more praise as it totally hits its target purpose. Seriously, if you want something strictly for media consumption, and you don't need to fit on your lap, there's nothing better. I hate to admit it, but I actually took this beast weekend camping. Yeah, I'm one of those people that doesn't disconnect while camping, sue me.

Interesting. I'm a sucker for niche devices but didn't know of the Galaxy View. Although I find any anywhere do buy it, I have found a few listings on eBay.

Currently my 10.5 IPP is my video consumption device which I move around the kitchen when I'm cooking, tidying up or eating. I use the below purple foam case so that it's easy to find around the house, and is flexible and safe on any surface whether wet or uneven - and it's protected.

My only reservations about the GW is battery life, weight and portability to be placed almost anywhere where in the house. There's no denying that it must be an impressive sight in person. I'm a sucker for big screens having owned 17 inch laptops in the past.

Lol, I'm a freak like you. I have a Dell 18 XPS which is a full windows tablet in a 18"" screen that I sometimes use to couch surf, I updated it to have a 256GB SSD and it runs quite nicely. I look quite ridiculous with it and the wife/kids get a laugh out of it, but it's pretty incredible to use. It's a shame these aren't around anymore, I don't think the View or the XPS are made anymore or any larger tablets such as these.

Definitely get the Galaxy View, sounds like it's right up your alley. Worst case scenario, you return it if you're not happy with it. It's worth a try.

Actually, The View is still being sold here in Canada through various retailers including Best Buy. I wonder if that XPS 18 is the same panel as the View. They look exactly the same.
