I'm hoping this will be a fun/useful thread for strategies on playing Galcon, now that we can go against one another via the internet. Post your thoughts/strategies here and let's see what we can get out of it.

How do you start the round? Attack? Take Neutral planets? Go after small or large planets first? What percentage of your fleet do you send out and under what circumstance? As you take over planets and prepare for attack, do you often use the 'select all' and overwhelm opponents or do you select a few of your planets to attack and a few of your planets to replenish your own planets?

I could go on, but you get the idea.....so share!

galcon is like a good game of Risk but far much quicker... remember the big planets give you more resources & use the scale to determine how many ships you want to use.. Sometimes i use 75% from 3 of my planets to whipe someone out & at other times 50%
Also another good tip is to actually wait & let your planets build some large numbers then go 50% all out for a major attack..

Hope this all helps..
