As I recall Apple used to be No.1 for photo editing. How is it in the game development department? Not said to start a fight, but it seems that most of that is happening not on Macs. I have been learning Unreal Editor on my PC and am in the process of cranking it up on my 6 year old intel MBP while I'm traveling as this is my only laptop.

Then I started thinking that upgrading to a Silicon Mac might be a good move as my current laptop in getting old in the tooth, but after reading the lined article, I'm not so sure how well the Silicon Macs run Unreal Editor 5.1. I can't say it is supported at this point. Does anyone here have first hand experience with UE on your Silicon Mac?
Thanks.

I have almost no experience with UE, but Unity works well on Apple Silicon. Apple Silicon performance wise runs released games well relative to Intel Macs (though without the option to use Bootcamp to widen the catalogue), but development is hit or miss. Macs are great development machines in general, but specifically for the game section it's obvious that they are not a high focus; At least yet. And a lot of UE features just flat out don't work on macOS as of yet last I looked; Regardless of Apple Silicon or Intel. This included, last I checked, Nanite and most of Lumen's feature set.
