I have a late 2013 MBP 13" (i5, 8gb, iris hd5100). Any good games I can run on it with osx? Dont want to do bootcamp etc yet. Thinking most about platform games like crash bandicoot etc, since I will mostly be playing without a mouse. I will finish LIMBO now since I saw it supports mac

Come with suggestions for all genres, that will run fine on my mac with osx. Here is my steam profile if I missed some good games that runs on mac. http://steamcommunity.com/id/zelly/games/?tab=all

edit: I also have an xbox controller, so maybe I can try some good emulators for psx?

Portal and Portal 2 are always good, but controller support might be a bit spotty. You may need a joystick mapping program for that to work properly (I always play them with a mouse and keyboard).

Deus Ex: Human Revolution is another one that should play reasonably well on your machine, provided you run it at 1280x800 resolution. It has full 360 controller support as long as you have drivers for it installed. It's on sale on Steam for $5 until noon Central Time today. If you don't get it right now, odds are it will come around again at that price before June 30. Even then, the game is still well worth its full $20 asking price because you'll get at least 10-12 hours out of it - and that's only if you absolutely blaze through the main storyline and not tackle any sidequests. Between the Steam and Mac App Store versions of this game, I've logged well over 70 hours.

If you like turn-based tactical games, XCOM has been on sale most of the week. Mac compatable, awesome game.

SimCity 4 has also gone on sale at least once during the steam sale, with the new Intel mac port included.

FTL can be a lot of fun.

The Tomb Raider reboot is currently on sale and is mac compatible. :)

I picked up The Banner Saga on the sale the other day.
It's one of the most pleasant surprised in a long time!

It's a very beautiful 2D turn based RPG, with choices and very good combat.
You play several chars and can swap out party members, level them up and choose to improve various stats as you like. There is also diplomacy in your team, where you have to keep your members happy (or not) and sometimes you get into conflicts where you have to side with some of your members and the outcome can be that some will leave your team.

I've played it for about 6 hours over the last two days and enjoyed every minute so far!

The game also have an amazing sound track!
