Hi guys, I want to write today about my recent experiences with Gameloft, a company that releases many mobile games...

I purchased Driver through iTunes on my Mac for $4.99. It downloaded to my library, but won't sync to my iPod Touch. There are many reviews agreeing with my problems, yet Gameloft *still* decides it's okay to release a $5 game to the market when half the people can't even load it onto their iPods and iPhones.

I emailed Gameloft support on Thursday (it is now Saturday), no response yet but I'll wait until Monday because it is the weekend. Minutes after I email Gameloft, I try signing up to their forums to seek help there, but right when I click "Register", it seems I am automatically banned from their forums!! WHY? I don't know!!

IP Banned for No Reason: http://img3.imageshack.us/img3/7392/screenshot20100206at102.png

That is a horrible experience with Gameloft and I urge you all to stay away from them if you don't want to risk wasting money with absolutely NO support from them at all.

I emailed iTunes service support, hopefully I will get a good response back, and that they can refund me.

Hell, the only thing Gameloft is horrible at is taking my money and giving me hours upon hours of entertainment.

Umm, why not try deleting it and redownloading? I would also recommend just connecting to wifi and downloading it right on the iphone.

I think you're overreacting.

Wait for them to reply to your email and see what they say. An application not syncing to your iPod Touch when it is compatible is very strange and really has nothing to do with Gameloft.

As I said before, it's nothing to do with my iPod because if you read the reviews, tons of other people are having the same issue. They banned me from their forums before I even got a chance to ask for help. If you go to the Gameloft forums they even acknowledge that their apps don't always sync or download onto your Apple device.

I haven't even visited their site before this and they banned me! What for? They basically told me to f**k off in the rudest and most unprofessional way possible.

Nothing a developer does has anything to do with whether the app syncs o you device. We have no control over it. It's like blaming the developer because you can't find your left sock. You need to ask apple why iTunes isn't working. It's not gameloft's problem.

You were probably banned because your basic premise makes no sense.

Hell, if it won't synch, just redownload it from the phone's app store app.

Gameloft games are pretty horrible. Believe me I've had my fair share of let downs. I've played Driver (terrible controls), NOVA, Asphalt 4 & 5, that recent air plane game they have, and some other ones. UNO is terrible, they tell you what card to use. Their finest moment is Let's Golf and it's not even original. Gameloft is never getting any of my money again.

I think thats a glitch instead of them intentionally banning you from joining the forums. I tried to join this morning only and got the same error as well. Was wondering myself why the hell was I banned. But looks like I wasnt the only one getting these errors. Hopefully someone will notice it soon and fix this error.

Glad to hear its a glitch, but time has passed and I'm still banned - looks like no effort has been made to fix this. Maybe gameloft didn't even notice it because they don't even care about their forums.

I still haven't even gotten a reply from them yet; I sent two emails.

This is a first for me, but I can finally applaud Apple for their support - they gave me 5 free song credits and I'm going to receive a full refund of the $4.99 game within a week.

I like Gameloft. They have released some of the best games in the appstore. NOVA, Gangstar, and so on. They make big games, not .99 cents, slapped together over night trash. Its not there fault the app won't sync to your device.

I don;t think your IP is banned because you emailed them , maybe the whole subnet of IPs is banned because one guy was giving them problems on the forums.. or something :p

This is what Gameloft will tell you too as they've told me the very same thing using an iPhone. I think the OP just needs to chillax and re-download. And it is likely your IP was banned because some other doucher screwed up. Not you.

Have you even bothered to read the first post? This is a widespread issue. it is Gameloft's fault. I have tried redownloading. Doesn't work...next time you post on a thread, take the time to read the first post.

The fact that it's a widespread issue doesn't make it gameloft's fault. Again, developers have nothing to do with iTunes syncing the app to your device. They submit a package to Apple, which signs it and takes care of things from that point.

The OP needs to read up about how apps on the iPhone/iPod work. Syncing an app really just means extracting the apps ipa file on the device. If Gamelofts game were broken the app wouldn't extract properly for EVERYONE. CLEARLY it is a problem with your device, most likely file permission errors. If you're not jailbroken then the only fix would be a restore of your device.

If it was Apple's problem, then they didn't have any technical assistance to support me, and Gameloft says to contact THEM (Gameloft) for assistance when an app won't sync or load onto your device.

I contacted Gameloft more than a week ago, still no reply back. it's clear they have non-existant support. Apple should take Driver off the App store, since this issue is so widespread, and clearly whosever fault it is, there is no support or assistance on the issue. Bottom line.

Just curious - where do they say that?

All of this fuss, for something thats $4.99. Can I just give you the $4.99 and shut ya up for a while, sheesh man. Let me know, I'll pay $5 to have you simmer down. Seriously, its a couple bucks. Fun game too, to bad you cant play it.

So, OP, have you tried doing what at least half the people here have suggested, and download the app directly to your iPod?

You seem hell bent on ranting about it not syncing and Gameloft not replying to your email, but are you even trying to fix the problem yourself?

When gameloft submits an app to the store, apple checks it first and confirms that it works, if they publish it, theyre basically saying it is guaranteed to work, so its apple's fault for approving it.

yeah, I've tried re-downloading through my computer and directly on to it as I've said already in this thread, doesn't work. there's nothing I can do, so Apple is refunding me my money
