Hello. I updated my iPhone 15 Pro Max to iOS 18.1 this past Thursday, and just today have noticed a weird new item being listed when I check my screen time. Listed amongst the usual items is something called “GameOverlayUI” and I’ve never seen that before. For example, I spent 1h31m playing Balatro today, and when I took a look at my screen time, both Balatro and “GameOverlayUI” were both listed with a time of 1h31m. Has anyone else come across this? I’m not sure if it’s some new addition to iOS, or if it’s supposed to be there at all, or is something weird going on with my phone? Any help is much appreciated.

I also have seen this on my iPad 16 Pro Max M4 with the 18.1 update wondering as well why it lists my specific app game time usage as well as GameOverlayUI

This sounds like a bug to me. It's probably listing the "Game Mode" logic as a separate app, which it shouldn't. You could report it as a bug with the feedback assistant.

The developers must have saw you response it is gone now
