DISCLAIMER: I know that it is stupid to play an FPS game with a gamepad... Believe me, I KNOW. Don't make any comments about how gamepads suck with FPS games, or anything similar. I hate playing FPS games with gamepads on consoles, and I doubt it will be different for a computer. My reasons for this are my own, and I've seen way too many "Don't use a gamepad for FPS games!" kind of posts.
I bought a Dual Action Logitech controller, and I am trying to get it to work with an FPS game such as CoD4 or HL2. Since gamepad support on the Mac is essentially non-existent, I am trying to use Gamepad Companion to mimic how FPS games are played on consoles. Mapping the buttons was extremely easy, and I don't think I will run into any problems on that. The problem I am facing is trying to use the right analog stick to control the mouse.
In Gamepad Companion, there are 2 'methods' of mouse control that it enables. One of them is a continuous digital movement. This lets the mouse continuously move in whichever direction I move the stick. The problem is that even though it's continuous, it is digital, so no matter how much I move the 'analog' stick, it still goes at a continuous speed.
The other method is the complete opposite. The movement is analog, which fits perfectly on the stick, but it isn't continuous. I need to keep flicking the stick in the direction I want to go. I can't find this problem on Google, so it must be some sort of error on my part, but I can't find out what's wrong. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
