Hi there, I was wondering if anyone is experiencing crashing on there mac pro in games after the new firmware recently released. I crash in Battlefield 2 and the Bioshock demo now. the changes i have recently made are the firmware update and replacing my 4 cores to 8 cores myself. what happens in both games is the game will freeze and then the audio will start to loop until the whole machine restarts. any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks guys

I have had the same problem while running games under windows XP, i however recieved the BSOD when there after it automatically restarted. The BSOD said there was a "memory" problem, but i beliueve the computer is over heating compared to windows labtops, so it is automatically restarting. If you set the settings a lot lower it should fix the problem and keep the computer cooler.

yes, it was overheating cause when i lowered the settings it did work find. and i upped the settings and turn up my video card fan and it was fine. the weird thing is it never did this before i upgraded the firmware.
