It seems like everytime I play any sort of graphically intense game on my MBP, it seems like I loose my battery power. I reboot into OS/X and I constantly have to recharge my battery. Is this normal: is the XP drawing more power then the A/C adapter can supply when I play some games?

I haven't pulled out the battery when I play them yet, sort of because if I am drawing more power then I can supply with my power adapter, I want to make sure I'm giving it. But mostly because I'm bad about knocking out that magnetic power chord!

Good question.. I am interested in hearing the answer to this as well, as I am debating getting a new MBP.. or trading my mac Pro in on one....

It happens on my MBP too. When I’m playing Heroes Of Might & Magic V on OSX I’m losing the battery power.

Well I've never had the computer shut off due to lack of battery life while on A/C, and I haven't ever drained the battery while gaming (except when I've knocked the power chord out, only did that once). I've played some games for extended periods too (8+ hours), so it's not for lack of trying.

I don't know if it's actually happening, XP draining battery life while on A/C, or if I'm knocking out the power chord too often. I don't think it's the second, but it's not every single time I reboot that I have to recharge, it just seems to happen quite often.
