Games for Intel Mac Pro

I just got my MP up to the standards I want it to be for my photography.

I wonder if it would work, as I have done some searches, for a thread for adventure games for the MP. I am not going to run windows on my computer. Windows is why I came back to Mac. My wife and I love adventure games and I cannot find a credible search for Adventure games for the MP on the internet.

Are there some? Dedicated to MP?

I am going out on a limb here but, is there really a logical reason to have PPC's, different OS and Intel Macs under the same heading here? With reference to my question are the two compatible for adventure games? I know I'm new and ignorant, just asking.

um..your Mac Pro IS an intel mac. So any game that is universal binary will work fine. Even some games that arent work fine.

They arent going to make games "just for mac pro" thats silly.
I have games that arent universal binary and they work fine on my MBP. But UB games run better on intel macs for sure. So if you're worried, get games that are universal binary.

Thanks. I knew, going in, that this might be a silly question but I have just upgraded the RAM and made an investment of quite a bit to get this ready for my photo work flow. Binary? Does that mean that it is for Windows/Mac?

No...that's "hybrid". Universal binary means it runs natively on Intel Macs as well as PPC Macs.

It needs to be an OS X game, that's all. Older games for PPC Macs will (usually) work, although slower.

No, that's a Windows game. Rhem 3 is coming out next month in the U.S. (already released in Europe).

OK, so, what games do I look for? Adventure only. I notice that there are not a lot of them and, on the Apple site, most are demos. Something with intelligent adventure would be fun. I don't need a divorce. I talked my wife into this and now she loves it (the Mac Pro)

Just get the free ScummVM and buy some of the old LucasArts adventure games. It doesn't matter which version of the games for it you get, Mac or PC...it can run both.

Check eBay for them--the good ones I liked were Monkey Island 1-4 (4 is actually OS X native), Maniac Mansion, Day of the Tentacle, Indiana Jones & The Fate of Atlantis (if you get any of them, get THAT one), Full Throttle, and Sam & Max.

Those will pretty much solve your adventure kick, for sure.
