take your MBP back to the store if u r under 30 days and hope they will be able to give u the new version :p

If you like the GTA games, why not get the real deal and get the trilogy for the Mac? Runs great on the Nvidia 320m

I originally got the Macbook Pro in Hong Kong around 25 days ago.
I live in India, and will note be going to hong for atleast half a year.....
Should I try calling apple india tomorrow and see if they can help?

I dont know how to put this without getting in trouble, but I dont go the legit way often if you catch my drift......
PM's? If a game is REALLY good and cheap maybe. ie I ended up getting around 200USD worth of iOS stuff. at 0.99cents its actually worth it. but 49.99 is pretty high in my opinion

btw where is the trilogy available?

Last I heard they will for a fee, like $100. I'd say it was worth it though, anytime you can upgrade for that little.

For the OP, browse Apple Games. If you can't find what you want there, it maybe be necessary to BootCamp it. Regarding X-Plane, buy the DVDs.

As a game developer, I do not condone software piracy in any way, shape, or form. I bought my copy from the US Apple Store for $39.95 USD. Considering it contains GTA3, Vice City, and San Andreas all on a single DVD. It's a decent value (and a rare sight for sure).

Also, I condone purchasing games from Mac developers as it will only get more notice from future game developers down the road that Mac owners do like a bit of fun too without having to boot up Windows.

Apple store online?
I am training myself up right now to become a iOS developer (currently learning C), and I have no problem pirating something that is overcharged.... 0.99 = reasonable - thats why i dont pirate iOS apps.
40USD is pretty high too - especcialy when you look at it from the indian perspective
(btw just to be clear- i was NOT born in india- I was born in the US so its not like i'm patriotic to india or something)

Yeap, the US Apple Store online. http://store.apple.com/us/product/H3851LL/A?fnode=MjQzNDcwNg&mco=MjAzNDE5MDI&s=topSellers

Concerning your views on piracy, there is no grey line IMO. I feel the upcharge for the iPad version of Angry Birds over the iPhone version is silly, but I still paid for the game. Why? It's a great game. You can download it on Android for free (ad supported). Prices may drop down the road to $20 or so but that's your decision. I like my physical copy with a case on my software shelf.

Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic is on the Mac App Store for like €15 now, it's an older game but it's great (I don't know if it'll run on the 13 inch MBP though). I bought it and am downloading right now, even though I've already played it.

Regarding piracy, sure it's not exactly 'stealing', but I like to support devs, especially in these times. The Mac already isn't really known for games, and now that this has just turned for the better through Steam and Valve, Mac App store, etc. it isn't a good time to stifle this. PC (I'm including Mac in that) gaming is in a dangerous position already, so just remember that if you pirate the software, don't complain when they stop making it.
