I have a 5.1 sound system for gaming, but have to use headphones late a night. Can anyone recommend a good pair with surround sound.

Cheers

It sounds like those are for computers?
I'm just assuming your not talking about computer gaming since this is a "console" forum, but I may be wrong.

Wouldn't this thread have to be moved, "if" it was in the console forum? ;)

I don't know about these dedicated 5.1 headphones, or gaming headphones, but I use my Sennheiser HD 555s for late night gaming and they offer true surround sound. I can hear when someone is behind me, to to my left, etc. They have this thing they call a Surround reflector, which as noted really works.

They sound great with a headphone amp for music as well, which is why I bought them. They're very comfortable

Yeah, these sound perfect. Reading through the Amazon reviews and the everyone says the same.

As an aside, I never knew about "burn in" with headphones – where you hear the best sound after 100 hours of listening.

Well, a lot of good earphones, people recommend "seasoning" them up before using it. Like, leaving it playing either a good classical music or something. Because the panels inside can get rough and hard during the shipment/inventory process.
