I'm looking at buying a Mac Mini with the 2.7 i7 CPU and the 6630m graphics card. I am a bit of a gamer and expecially play WOW quite alot and just wondering if anyone can shed some light on the performance of this mac mini running wow in say med and high settings.

Thanks,
Richard

WoW runs at 20-30 fps on high settings in 1920*1080 resolution. Not super smooth, but perfectly playable :)

I prefer to play one resolution down from 1920x1080, usually with settings on high. Some battlegrounds i like to turn it down to "good" so i can maintain 25-30fps:cool:

I was impressed that the 6630 with 256mb plays WoW this well.

I've got the i7 with the 6630M and 8 GB of RAM. I've played in medium and high settings and it runs fine at both. Certainly medium is quite a bit better and the game looks fine at those settings.

I've got the i5 Mini, 4gb Ram, 6630m graphics card. Any idea if I'd be able to play WoW or Call of Duty 4 in decent quality.

WOW will be fine but I'm not sure of COD4 as I don't know what it's minimum/ recommended specifications are.

Call of Duty 4 really isnt demanding. I can play that on high settings at 1440x852 on the Intel HD graphics in the 2010 MBP. And on maxed settings at 1680x1050 using the GT 330M 512MB. Im pretty sure the 6630M will be able to do the same despite the less VRAM. The 6630M is a quicker card then the 330M.

However I guess that since you have this machine, you might aswell just try it out :D you can download Call Of Duty 4 Demo for Mac (if there is one) to see how it runs! :) or if you have bootcamp, get the demo there
